EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY

INFANTS - 3months to 18months

Our infant program provides a safe and nurturing environment where babies can explore, learn, and develop under the watchful care of our trained and compassionate staff. The emphasis is on creating a warm and secure atmosphere to ensure the well-being and comfort of each infant.

The infant program at Purple Willows is crafted with a deep understanding of the unique needs of this age group. Our dedicated staff creates a loving and stimulating environment, laying the foundation for healthy development, positive social interactions, and a lifelong love for learning.

Here are our key principles;

1. Individualized Care:

Recognizing the unique needs of each infant, our program focuses on individualized care. Staff members are attuned to the specific routines, preferences, and developmental milestones of each baby.

Caregivers provide responsive and attentive interactions, fostering a strong bond with the infants.

2.Sensory Stimulation:

The infant program incorporates sensory stimulation to promote cognitive development. Activities that engage the senses, such as gentle music, soft textures, and age-appropriate toys, are carefully chosen to support sensory exploration.

3.Motor Skills Development:

Activities are designed to encourage the development of gross and fine motor skills. Tummy time, reaching for objects, and gentle exercises contribute to the physical development of infants.

Our environment is arranged to facilitate safe exploration, allowing infants to gradually develop their motor abilities.

4.Communication and Language Development:

We prioritize communication and language development from the earliest stages. Nursery practitioners engage in verbal interactions, read stories, and sing songs to encourage language acquisition. The environment is rich with language-rich stimuli to support the development of early communication skills.

5.Establishing Routines:

Consistent routines are established to provide predictability and comfort for infants. Daily schedules for feeding, napping, and playtime are adapted to each infant's unique needs and preferences.

The establishment of routines contributes to a sense of security and helps infants feel comfortable in their surroundings.

6.Parental Involvement and Communication:

We recognize the importance of strong partnerships with parents. Regular communication channels, including daily updates, photos, and opportunities for discussions, ensure that parents are informed and involved in their child's daily experiences.

7.Transition Support:

As infants approach the age of 18 months, our program includes thoughtful transition support to the next developmental stage. This may involve gradual introductions to new activities, spaces, and caregivers to ease the transition.

TODDLERS - 18months to 36months

Purple Willows' toddler program is thoughtfully designed with a profound understanding of the distinctive needs of toddlers aged 18 months to 36 months. The program's core principles include:

1. Play-Based Learning:

The curriculum emphasizes play-based learning, recognizing it as a primary avenue for exploration and cognitive development in toddlers.

2. Social Interaction:

Social interaction is woven into the fabric of the program. Toddlers engage in group activities to foster essential social skills, including cooperation, communication, and sharing.

3. Individual Development Focus:

Purple Willows places a significant focus on individual development. Tailored activities and responsive caregiving ensure that each toddler's unique needs are met.

4. Emotional Thriving:

The environment is crafted to nurture emotional well-being. Predictable routines and supportive interactions contribute to a secure and comforting space where toddlers can express themselves.

5. Cognitive Stimulation:

Purposeful activities stimulate cognitive development. Toddlers engage in age-appropriate challenges that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and the exploration of early learning concepts.

6. Parental Partnership:

The program encourages active parental involvement. Transparent communication channels ensure that parents are well-informed about their toddler's daily experiences, fostering a collaborative partnership between caregivers and parents.

7. Multi-Sensory Experiences:

Recognizing the importance of sensory development, toddlers are exposed to a variety of multi-sensory experiences. These activities enhance their sensory exploration and contribute to holistic development.

In essence, Purple Willows provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where toddlers not only learn but thrive emotionally, socially, and cognitively. The program's holistic approach ensures that each toddler receives the support and encouragement needed to navigate this crucial stage of development successfully.

PRE-SCHOOLERS - Under 5s

Our Preschool educational journey is unique and well equipped with a variety of resources that satisfy the emotional, social, physical, musical and creative needs of the children.

The preschool activities are based on first-hand experiences that encourage exploration, observation, experimentation, discussion, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making.

As we prepare the children for primary education, they are presented with a stimulating and safe environment to enable them to be independent and gain confidence as well as experience. We spend more time talking together with the children as a group, helping them to negotiate effectively.

We help the children organise their ideas and plan what they are going to do, and provide them opportunities to be reflective and discuss what they have been doing.

We also provide various activities that support physical activities which the children make use of independently to develop their manipulative skills. All children at purple Willows understand the importance of physical activity and to make healthy choices concerning food.

The preschool program at Purple Willows is designed to create a positive and engaging learning environment where preschoolers can flourish. By fostering a love for learning, social skills, and foundational academic knowledge, Purple Willows supports each child's development during these crucial early years.
