Purple Willows overreaching philosophy is to create a stimulating environment which offers a range of activities to encourage children's interest and curiosity both indoors and out of doors. Our day nursery and preschool activities are based on first-hand experiences that encourage exploration, observation, experimentation, discussion, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision making.

We encouraged the use of open-ended materials, natural and reclaimed, to motivate children to investigate, develop their curiosity, imagination, and creativity.

We support children through the excellent use of the potential of collections of everyday objects. Children are provided with a wide range of materials to explore, and they are encouraged in finding out about reflections.

Purple Willows is built on children's interest and fascination. Our staff understands the EYFS ethos and the importance of listening attentively to what the children have to say about their discoveries and provide them the time and space they need to explore in depth those things which fascinate them.

We operate an outdoors in all-weather policy which applies to all children of all age group. The outdoor area is seen as an environment for curiosity, and we support the children with a wide range of resources which enable them to further their knowledge. The positive attitude of our staff towards exploring out of doors fosters a sense of pleasure in the children as they make sense of their physical world.
