Infants

We believe that each child is a special gift and should be treasured. We encourage parents to spend as much time developing their relationship with their babies - through talking, listening, and playing.

In line with our values, these are embedded in our setting. We sit in a social group, talking and playing with young children. We provide various resources that support the children's developing understanding of the material and how they behave.

Children are also encouraged to be active, and we use heuristic play to encourage them to manipulate objects and explore materials. We engage the children's interest in books and stories through story reading and give them multi-sensory experiences.

Key principles

Purple Willows recognizes the importance of providing a nurturing and enriching environment for infants aged 3months  to 18 months.

Individualized Care

We understand that each infant is unique, so our program focuses on providing personalized care tailored to their specific needs, routines, and developmental milestones. Our caregivers build strong bonds with each infant through responsive and attentive interactions.

Sensory Stimulation

Sensory exploration is essential for cognitive development in infants. Our program incorporates age-appropriate sensory experiences, such as gentle music, soft textures, and engaging toys, to stimulate their senses and encourage exploration.

Motor Skills Development

We provide opportunities for infants to develop both gross and fine motor skills through activities like tummy time, reaching for objects, and gentle exercises. Our environment is designed to support safe exploration and gradual development of motor abilities.

Communication and Language Development

e prioritize language development by engaging infants in verbal interactions, reading stories, and singing songs. Our environment is enriched with language-rich stimuli to support early communication skills.

Establishing Routines

Consistent routines are established for feeding, napping, and playtime to provide infants with predictability and security. These routines help infants feel comfortable and confident in their surroundings.

Parental Involvement and Communication

We believe in strong partnerships with parents, so we maintain regular communication channels to keep parents informed and involved in their child's daily experiences. Daily updates, photos, and opportunities for discussions ensure that parents feel connected to their child's development.

Transition Support

As infants approach 18 months, our program includes thoughtful transition support to prepare them for the next developmental stage. This may involve gradually introducing new activities, spaces, and caregivers to ease the transition.

Toddlers - Lion Room

Everything that happens to the toddler is meaningful. We ensure toddlers learn to be independent, do things for themselves, and have their own ideas about how things should happen. We have a good selection of equipment used to help develop children's interest in the world and learn more about the world around them.

Our preschool activities consist of language and thinking exercises that meet the minimum standards of the EYFS national curriculum. The activities are based on first-hand experiences encouraging exploration, observation, experimentation, discussion, problem-solving, and decision-making.
